Understand the language

Developments in technology has brought about new terms which are mostly not understood by the majority of the people who are end users. I came across the following terms in one of the cellphone advertising booklet. I have been wondering what their meanings are until I came across a glossary of terms included in the last page:
  • DNSe: Digital natural sound engine. It is a audio equaliser.
  • AMOLED: Active-matrix organic light-emitting diode. It is used to improve colour and contrast in devices that have a screen display.
  • IP: Ingress protection radio
  • B&O Power Amp: Bang and Olufsen amplification system designed for mobile devices
  • DLNA: Digital living network alliance, for sharing media across devices.

These are just a few of the terms we come across everyday as we are introduced to new devices or new features. Do you have terms that you would like to know their meaning? Post them in the comment section.
